Welcome to Hailsham Gospel Mission

Verse for 2025:

Psalm 86v11-12.

“Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart that I may fear your name. I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever".

On a week when we remember the terrible devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a thought from Matthew Ch 26 V32:
When Christ our Lord was being arrested on the mount of olives (remember that the offering of an olive branch is a sign of peace) Peter drew his sword to defend him. It is written that he wounded a member of the temple guard. Jesus commanded him "Put away your sword, for those who live by the sword shall die by the sword"

Here is a poem by David Vaughan, entitled 'Hiroshima' >>>

We have a reputation for making visitors feel welcome and at home. We trust you will experience that welcome whether you are a senior citizen or a small child.

All our services are very informal and family friendly, no need to dress up, just come as you are. We even have a dog or two that come with their owners and usually sleep through the service! For primary age children, if they are happy to sit in the adjacent lounge, we have trained teachers and leaders who are all DBS vetted.

You will find our statement of faith (what we believe) on the "about us" page, but briefly it is very similar to other mainstream churches in the UK such as the Church of England (Anglican), Baptist and Methodist churches. Our current constitution is also on the About Us page.
